Train in Spain Training Camps 2011

Many people have been enquiring about 2011 camps, cycling breaks and, of course, the Quebrantahuesos sportive in June. Below is an update of some of the highlights coming up. If you need any additional information do not hesitate to contact John by clicking the logo above.

FEBRUARY 12-19
Kick Start your season with a new Training Camp with Coach Dan Bennett.  Dan has coached cyclists for British Cycling, professional and national level riders for road, time trial and MTB.  He has been the British Cycling Talent Team Coach.

This man knows his stuff and is a great communicator. He will offer all guests on and off the bike advice and a free consultation service. The camp itself will be in the Ogisaka Gardens Hotel, Denia.

Accommodation is in luxury apartment-style rooms. The package includes HB and unlimited access to the spa and gym. We welcome all levels of riders, from Cat 1 racers to sportive riders.  For further information visit:  http://www.traininspain.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=109&Itemid=125

March 12-19 & March 19-26
SPORTSTEST TRAINING CAMP with Dr Garry Palmer. After a hugely successful 2010 camp, Garry is returning for two weeks in 2011.

The camp will be run from the Ogisaka Gardens Hotel, Denia (see above).  With six days of guided riding in the Marina Alta mountains, guests will enjoy an unbeatable week of on and off the bike coaching. Garry works tirelessly for all of our clients and ensures everyone gets the opportunity to talk through their objectives for the coming season.

He offers  body fat analysis for all guests as well as tests for hydration levels after rides. There are informative evening sessions which were highly appreciated by all clients in 2010 – he’s not got a PhD in Sports Science for nothing!

If you really want to know where your fitness is, Garry will also be offering full fitness tests during the week at a discounted rate. That is the same fitness tests that he gives to clients week in, week out at the Specialized Concept stores and at his own practice! http://www.traininspain.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=108&Itemid=55

      June 15-19 QUEBRANTAHUESOS*
THE EPIC PYRENEAN SPORTIVE! Train in Spain is proud to be THE ONLY OPERATOR to be able to offer guaranteed places for one of the world’s biggest and best sportives.

205 kms, 3500 metres of height gained and 8500 participants make this a giant event and one of the very few UCI Golden Bike rides.  It is quite simply a brilliantly organized sportive and can be pretty tough too. In 2010, 2500 riders failed to finish due to a mixture of rain and unseasonable temperatures – don’t take it lightly!

* The organizers will confirm this week the event is taking place as planned. If you wish to Pre-Reserve your place, get in touch ASAP. We will follow the same plan as in 2010 which can be found here:

In addition, please remember we are based in Spain all-year round. If the above dates don’t suit you get in touch and we can plan a trip to suit your diary. We will be running trips to a number of Spanish sportives and can also organize breaks around duathlons and triathlons that take place in the area. We can offer exclusive weeks of guiding on a one-to-one basis with accommodation at our villa right up to a full club week with hotel or villa-based accommodation.
