Think Like a Pro Analysis
What is it?
The Think Like a Pro Analysis is a
self-assessment performance evaluation carried out on yourself, by yourself. It's non-stressful,
with no endurance requirement whatsoever. It's carried out with a
cup of tea and a biscuit or two. Thinking duration is around
fifteen minutes. This short investment in yourself could well
change the way you think about your sport and your life, forever!

Why do I need it?
Maybe you don't. But if those results
that you so desperately crave keep eluding you, or you can't hold your
focus for a race let alone a season, then maybe you need to change
something or at least acknowledge the reasons why.
Don't keep doing the same things and expect
different results. Maybe you don't need to change the way you
train, just change the way you think. It's free, it's easy, it
requires no hard work whatsoever.
How to Prepare
Sit down, in a room without distractions, clear your mind and
promise yourself you're going to follow the document's instructions, no
matter how "uncomfortable" or challenging they may be. Don't
worry, it's nothing dark!
In total you'll provide answers to
twenty-five questions or
statements. It's as simple as that.
Part A asks us to describe
what we like and who we are.
Part B highlights our restraints, the things stopping us achieving what
we want to achieve.
After looking back, we now look forward and forward only.
Part C looks forward, three months in to the future.
It highlights the old things you will stop doing and the new things you
will begin to do.
D consolidates all of the information you've provided and places it in a
format that will allow you to unlock the champion within.
At the end of your Think Like a Pro Analysis you will have a
definitive self assessment of your beliefs, values and expectations.
It will highlight to you the specific areas on
which you should concentrate your efforts. Only you can choose how
you act on the findings.
This is a living document.
Don't just do it then forget it. It should form part of your
monthly review of your training. Always ask yourself, "am I
following the promises I made to myself, to enable me to get to where I need to be, by when I need to be there?"
